I purchased this model on EBAY and am extremely pleased. It effectively cools most of my small two bedroom apartment. Along with the use of a couple cheap fans to push the cool air along from the living room to the kitchen and bedrooms, it provides a nice, cool indoor experience for hot summers in Los Angeles.

The window vent and hose is easy to install, however it can get knocked out of the window by an active small child. If you use the hardware given, be sure to keep the area child free or else keep a close eye on it.

There is relatively little care needed to keep it in good operation. The one time I had to get it repaired was when my son pushed small toys into the unit through the front vent. It is amazing that, once the repairmen opened it up and removed the toys, it worked just fine once again. A workhorse portable AC.

The one other thing that should be done weekly is draining water from the unit, which is extremely easy. Done weekly, only a cup or less comes out of that little hole, so putting a little tupperware container under the hole when you drain it will be sufficient, even after a week of running it day and night. I have never seen the full tank light come on.

It is somewhat quiet, although I feel it is still a bit noisy compared to other models. But the effective cooling and ease of operation makes up for all of that. My unit might be noisier than others, however, due to the toy removal fiasco of last year.

Guests, impressed with my AC, have mentioned time and again, where can they get one of these Toyotomi ACs? This model is currently not being produced, and I hope Toyotomi considers making a new line of them. It is why I had to purchase it through EBAY.

If you do buy a used unit, I strongly recommend local pick up, or the best delivery money can buy. Portable ACs do NOT ship very well… trust me, I have purchased several online for delivery, all with mixed and sometimes disastrously damaged results. The small business that shipped this AC to me used an excellent private shipper. The business itself was located just across town.
