As indicated by the previous reviewer, very disappointing performance. Cooling is just ok in my room (16×16 =256 sf), but the dehumidifier that functions automatically when cooling, fills up the internal holding tank at least once a day(running the unit about 4-5 hrs per day). I live in San Diego 10 miles from the ocean, so it is not that humid where I am at. The brochure says the condensation is supposed to be exhausted out with the air circulated out from the condenser. I doubt it is working. Calls (multiple) to the manufacturer did no good. They think it is working as designed. To empty the tank, you need to haul the whole unit (75 lbs) somewhere to pull the drain plug located at the very back, bottom of the unit. A REAL pain!!. Especially if you have it on the second floor. I have now rigged up a drain hose, to drain in to a Tupperware container. To get that to work I had to build a stand to get the unit high enough to allow gravity to drain the water out. I am very disappointed in this major inconvenience, but I am more disappointed that Costco, who usually sells good products, would consider this a good product. I have not returned it yet as I am not sure if there are other alternatives that are any better. Maybe these portable units need more development time to work the bugs out, but if you visit the Windchaser web site you get the impression that they are the experts in portable cooling…. not with this unit….
UPDATE: Returned to Costco. Good news - a no hassle return !
