The Amcor Portable Air Conditioner
My wife and I got new windows for our house last year. And with that, didn’t want to put some clunky, heavy, window mounted air conditioner in them, so that they can rattle around all summer, decreasing the stability of our new windows/frames. So, with that, we decided to look at the portable models.

Review’s at the bottom, first let me explain why it was so needed: From what I’ve read, the best a portable air conditioner can be expected to do is to cool a single room or supplement existing a/c. Hearing this and after reading a few negative reviews about various units I was a little worried. But for many like me this is the only option. In my apartment, despite several calls to maintenance about the weak built-in a/c, their standard response is ‘these units will only cool 10-15 degrees below outside temperature’. Ridiculous considering our Texas heat isn’t going anywhere. I said ‘Fine can I buy a little window unit since your old junk can’t do the job?’ ‘Nope, against policy’. We’re on the 2nd floor and get hit hard with the summer sun. Despite blocking all windows out with 1/2 inch styrofoam it still gets hot in here, and my apartment a/c works it’s inefficient fanny off all day drawing extra watts like a gambling addict.
