We purchased 2 of the Alen C320 Portable Air conditioner in June, one for us and one for a relative. We bought both through HomeClick. We were impressed with the fast delivery and the relative ease of installation. So far our is working well in a large bedroom (250-300 sq. ft.) with cathedral ceiling and no attic, southern exposure. Even in the current heat wave, we are now able to leave the whole-house a/c off most of the time. I might get the next size up if I did it again, but this one is working fine. I’d also caution people to measure the windows where they plan to put the exhaust. Although it comes with a window kit that works in slider or sash windows, a very short or very tall window will require your own adaptation. We had to fill in a gap with cardboard because our window is tall. Also, the flex hose for the exhaust does take up room so this may not be the best option for a small or crowded room. The machine seems to have 2 noise levels: a softer murmur and a louder motor type noise when it revs up. In the Pacific Northwest, we are emptying the water bucket daily even for just the A/C function. Manual is written in broken English and not well organized.
