I purchased this air conditioner Sharp CV-P10MX only 3 months ago from futureshop in Ottawa, Canada and used it very little all of sudden stopped cooling and started to make sound like a tractor.

This unit looks very sleek and the operation is very quite, you can have it running in your bedroom and actually fall sleep.

The remote works fine, but it is missing backlit, if middle of the nigh you want to turn it on/off or change the setting have to turn the light on.

The air conditioner could use more operational buttons and LCD display right on the unit itself, if the remote gets lost or dies, very much that’s the end of your air conditioner until you get another remote.

Having only one vent hose is a big plus and no need for drain is another plus.

After having problems with the unit, I called Sharp Canada and couldn’t believe what I heard; they expect me to deliver it to one of their outsourced repair shops in another city “Montreal”, 2.5 hours drive away in order to have it fixed.

Ottawa is capital city of Canada with over 1 million people and Sharp does not have a service center!?

This unit does not fit in my car, I have to borrow a truck, take get 2 days off work and drive 2 separate days for 10 hours back and fort only to have this under warranty product repaired.

Not to mention the Sharp representative on the phone was very rude and said don’t expect us to have an air conditioner repair center in every city, regardless of selling them!

While page 4 of installation and operation manual says “The servicer will come to your home, and if it is necessary to remove the product, the servicer will reinstall it. Be sure to have proof of purchase available.”
