Euro-Pro EP600 Bagless Stick Cyclonic Vacuum Review Wonderful job on hardwood flooring! I originally bought another brand of stick vac for my hardwood floors but it didn't do what I was looking for. I ...
Wow, this little canister vac really does the job! I bought it to replace my 30+ year old Kenmore (honest!) that was still working but ridiculously ineffective.
I love:
* the multiple suction settings - conveniently located on the handle - that make it as easy to get into difficult corners as it is to dust something a little more delicate by just pushing a button near my thumb
*the telescoping chrome wand, which makes it convenient and easy both for my long-armed husband and short little me to tailor the machine to our individual needs
*the HEPA filter, which captures even fine kitty litter dust and doesn’t need to be replaced. Hooray, no more bags!
*the powered hand tool is perfect for stairs. My carpeted stairs have never been so clean.
On the other hand:
*I struggle a with the hand grip as it is too large for my hand and slippery. A grip with some of those newer materials would have been nice, and a design for a small woman’s hand should have been a no-brainer. The location of the control buttons on the grip has also been an issue. I have had to train myself not to touch them. My hand slips down to the crotch of the grip because that’s where it is most comfortable for me to hold it, but that’s also where the control buttons are. So I tend to shut the thing off without wanting to.
*The hand grip, where it connects to the telescoping wand, has a little hole where the wand locks in. With the wand removed and even with any of the tools such as the crevice tool attached, suction is lost through that hole.
*The power cord is too short. It often doesn’t retract completely. When this happens, I have to pull the cord all the way out and then retract it again. I sometimes have to do this more than once, a real annoyance.
*The accessory tools are small. The crevice tool is only a few inches long, and so doesn’t get into all my crevices. I saved the old Kenmore tool, which is about 10″ long, for these tasks. Of course a longer tool wouldn’t fit into the convenient tool lid on top of the vacuum.
*The call it ultra-quiet, but I don’t think so. The thing sounds like a tornado. I’d say ultra-loud is a better description.
