Looks a lot better in person than the web or newspaper image. Kind of an amalgam of cheap parts with some surprisingly robust features. Did not like the cheap plastic lever that operates the fresh air vent, but it gets the job done. The filter is easy to access and easy to clean. The case is constructed of ‘hydrophilic’ coating that resists dirt and bacteria. And the cooling coils at the rear appear to be premium construction.

Performance: Wow! Very quiet. Had similar Fedders model before this, and there is no comparison–this is much quieter and cools better. This unit is quiet (for emphasis). Does it cool? Oh yeah! Let’s put it this way: I can’t run it at less than 68 Degrees or it will run you out of a good-sized Master Bedroom. Has convenient remote, 3 fan speeds, and temperature control (down to 61 Degrees). It has an electronic stainless-like front panel that is attractive.

Install: Less than 1/2 hour with included window panel and A/C support. Went outside to listen to it from that perspective and it was very quiet and unobtrusive.

Pleasantly surprised with this unit, so far. Let’s see how it does for the long run. The Fedders was a poor performer from the get go. This one is out of the gate like a CHAMP!
