We aren’t real happy with our experience with this product and it’s manufacturer. Our first problem was dealing with the exhaust hose. Finding a window to use wasn’t possible, so we had to make a hole in a wall. The hose stretches 5 feet maximum, so it made the location limited. It was cooling quite well, but I was reminded that it needed to be drained periodically. The unit is 70 pounds heavy, and tilting it over to drain every few hours wasn’t my idea of staying cooled off. Then we noticed that it was leaking onto the carpet in our living room. Finally found it was bad seals/rivets on the bottom of the unit, near the water reservoir. That was enough for us, it was still within the warranty period, so we called it in, and after several emails/phone calls, bugged them into sending us a shipping label so we could send it back to them free of charge. Keep in mind we purchased it online via epinions and one of their advertisers, Compact Appliance dot com. The unit shipped via UPS, and I was able to track it online. It shipped on a Thursday (from Washington state) and arrived in the suburbs of Dallas, TX on the following Tuesday. I sent an email after seeing that it had arrived, asking when we’d know what was up with it. Someone responded from their customer service saying that they would inspect it and act accordingly. Two weeks and several days later, no action. Made a phone call or 2 or 3, and after another week or so, found out that it had been sitting somewhere in the “warehouse”, waiting to be shipped. Uh huh, so you say we thought. To make a long story longer, they shipped a new one back to us, just in time for summer to be completely over with here in the wet, gray, and rainy Northwest. Perhaps it’ll do the job for us next summer, or perhaps we got ripped for 471 bucks and change. Hope this helps ya!
