We ordered this unit on-line from www.sylvane.com because of discounts offered plus free shipping. A Mr Steven Hong was their representative. We researched the unit very carefully about how it worked, how it was to be maintained and what kind of energy use there would be. We were also concerned about the noise levels. We found out all the amps and decibels. We were interested in a unit that could be moved easily from room to room as we needed to cool different areas for different activities. We also wanted to be able to sleep through the cooling process. We were told it would be delivered by a service other than UPS. When it was delivered by two UPS men who had no hand cart and struggled with it, we were concerned. They had no control over the unit which was packed in the standard cardboard and styrofoam packaging by DeLonghi. What had happened somewhere along the way which was not evident is the unit had been dropped bending a support angle inside which made the unit noisy at times. It was repaired at our expense after we lugged it down three flights of stairs and across town in the back seat of our car. Once we had it repaired, it was quiet. Because the noise was intermittent, we had no credible way to prove the AC was flawed when we received it. Penguino in the U.S. is represented by Fox, International. While they listen and are sympathetic they did nothing to help the situation.
