I bought one of these 2 years ago and have been very happy with it. I got it after sending back three other air conditioners (of another brand) that didn’t allow for water overflow and caused floods on my carpet. This one has a little plastic pipe that can be attached in the back and drain into a basin. When the atmosphere is humid one definitely needs this feature. I use a larger basin than the one supplied (I use a dishpan) and don’t have to empty it more than once every day or two.

My unit sits on a very sturdy low table/stand (8 1/2″ high) that I got by cutting down the legs of a higher table. This gives the height necessary to allow the water to drain into a dishpan. If you use the small pan supplied with the unit you won’t need the added height. However, you will need to keep a much closer eye on the water accumulating in the pan to avoid an overflow.

This wonderful air conditioner has made life bearable in my apartment.

A note of caution: Have a second window somewhere in your home a little open to allow fresh air to get into the air conditioner. The air that enters the unit has to come from somewhere. It will be drawn in from musty basements or who knows where if you don’t let it in through a window.
