This portable room air conditioner unit with elelectronic controls ideally fits in most rooms up to 300 sq.ft. This is the basic 10,000 BTU model, also functions as a 38 pint dehumidifier and has manual controls.

The price : $300.00When I first received it, I was disappointed with the poorly written user manual, flimsy window mounting kit and difficult to use drainage tray. However, after installing the vent in a wall as opposed to a window, and learning from the manufacturer that the unit only rarely, if ever, needs to be drained (it’s not clear in the manual), my opinion has changed. The touch controls are easy to learn and use, provide a good deal of control options, and the unit cools very well. It is very sturdily built and, compared to others in its range, is very compact and good-looking. However, the window kit is totally useless, as the high density foam - although an excellent insulator - is too flimsy and flexible to support the vent hose while maintaining its shape. The manufacturer said they are working on an improved window venting kit which will combine the good insulation properties with a stiffer structure.
